How to check the setup

In the unlikely event of the device not working, here is how to check the setup.

Check Skype

• Click on the Skype icon in the bottom right of the screen (near the clock) and choose Open Skype.
• From the Tools menu, choose Options.

• You should see a screen form similar to the following. Choose Privacy.

• At the bottom, choose Manage other programs' access to Skype.
• You should see a form similar to the following:

Note: the screen form below may be behind the other open screens, so move things around to find it.

• Write down on a piece of paper whether it shows the IPMATE entry. If you do not see the IPMATE entry (words may be different to that shown here, but it should say IPMATE), then when you did the initial install you bypassed this screen:

• This is a screen form that Skype shows, asking if you want to allow IPMate to use Skype. When you see this form, you must select the first one: Allow this program to use Skype.
• Assuming you do have the IPMate entry in Skype, write down what it says on the 3rd line. It should say: Allowed to use Skype. If it says anything different, click on the Change button. This brings up the Another program wants to use Skype form shown above (note: the screen form may be behind the other open screens, so move things around to find it). You can make a change on this form and when closed it will reflect in the form above. Again, it should say Allowed to use Skype.

If you made any changes, reboot the computer and see if all is now working OK.

• If you were unable to resolve the problem from the above, then remove the IPMate from Skype.

• To do this, click on the entry above and then click Remove. Click OK and then Save.
• Disconnect the IPMate device from the computer.
• On the phone icon (now has a red cross through it), right-click and choose Exit. Answer Yes to really quit.

With the IPMate device still unplugged:

• Re-install the IPmate software by running the exe file you downloaded earlier

• For the S80 adaptor it is called: IPMate_S80_Setup.exe
• For the S60 telephone it is called: IPMate_sSetup_3.01.exe

• Plug in the IPMate into the USB port.
• Reboot the computer.
• When you see this form, be sure to select the first option.

 All should now be working.
