Dialing tone
The dialing tone on your S60 or S80 can be activated. This is easy to do: right-click on the phone icon and choose Settings. The only item you should change is Skype Dialtone. If is unchecked, then check it and click Apply. Note: On some computers, you may only hear the tone after you have dialled the number.
Volume settings on the S60 phone
(This note does not apply to the S80 adaptor).
The volume settings can be changed by right-clicking on the phone icon (near the clock on the bottom left of your computer). Then choose Volume.
The optimum setting is to move the left volume setting almost to the bottom. Move it to the bottom and then move it up a fraction. The other two volume settings can be moved to the bottom.
If you hear a whistling noise, your volumes are too high. You can always return to the volume setting again later and try other settings to see which works best for you.
Testing Your Sound Setup
To test your sound set up in Skype for Windows, you can use the testing robot
"echo123" .
