How to delay the start up of the IPMate software

In the unlikely event of the IPMate software not starting correctly when you start your computer, here is the solution.

Background: When your computer starts up, it loads various software components, plus other software tools like anti-virus software and Skype. One of the tools that gets loaded is the IPMate software. The IPMate software should be the last item loaded. On some computers, particularly those that have a long start-up, the IPMate software loads too soon. If you see the message Run the Skype!, then your computer is taking to long to load up its software. If you click the button on the Run the Skype! message before Skype loads, then all will work correctly. However, if you do not click that message, then you will get a message that IPMate has encountered an error. The solution is to make sure that you watch for that message during the start-up of your computer and click it when it appears.

Note: The easiest fix if you have a slow loading PC and you get an IPMate error during startup is:

Watch out for the message Run the Skype!, and when it appears click it. The loading will then continue normally and all work will work well. You only have to do this when you start your PC.

We suggest that you use the above solution - it's easy. If you are technical and like to fiddle, here is an alternative solution:

An alternative solution is to automate a delay to the loading of the Skype and IPMate software. That can be done using the method described below.

The delay solution is as follows:

Locate the Skype and IPMate programs and set a delay for both. The delay will vary for each computer. The picture below shows a delay of 1 minute for Skype and 1 minutes 5 seconds for IPMate. The Skype software should start first.

You may have to try several timings to find what works on your computer. If the Skype turns to green too soon, it won't work. If you get the message run the Skype, then you haven't allowed enough time.

Once you have the correct delay for your computer, we found that it works sweetly.
